The Ultimate Grinchy Breakfast: A Fun-Filled Experience in Universal Islands of Adventure

As a self-proclaimed Grinchy family, we're always on the lookout for unique and exciting experiences to share with each other. Our recent trip to Orlando was no exception, as we embarked on a mission to maintain my Marriott Titanium status by exploring new adventures in the city.

One activity that caught our attention was the Grinch Character Breakfast at Cirkus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous™ in Universal Islands of Adventure. I booked our reservation over a month in advance, knowing that these special events tend to fill up quickly.

The Breakfast Experience

Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and greeted by our friendly waiter, who gave us a rundown of what to expect during the breakfast experience. He took our drink orders and handed us our pass to meet the Grinch, which included a 25-minute wait in line (a relatively short wait considering it could have taken up to two hours!).

Our time with the Grinch was enjoyable, although I must admit that I was expecting a more grumpy, Grinchy demeanor. Instead, he was surprisingly friendly and accommodating.

The Feast

Following our meeting with the Grinch, we were treated to a delightful "Cinn-a Who Welcome Wheel" – a warm, extra-large cinnamon roll smothered in cream cheese frosting, Biscoff cookie crumbs, and fresh fruit. This sweet treat was devoured in no time!

Our meals consisted of a variety of dishes, including Jorge's "Grinch's Chilaquiles Verdes" (a flavorful mix of corn tortilla chips, hand-pulled chicken, and avocado), my "Who-landaise Smoked Brisket" (tender and juicy brisket with crispy potato hash and poblano and smoked cheddar corn bread), and Julie's "The Grinch's Pancake Stack" (thin pancakes served with whipped topping, fresh strawberries, and red crystal sugar).

But the real star of the show was the drinks. Jorge opted for Apple Juice, while Julie went with Orange Juice. I chose a latte, but unfortunately, they only offered basic American coffee. Undeterred, I asked for milk, but all they had on hand was creamer.

Sweet Treats

To round out our meal, we were treated to a "Grinchmas Sour Apple" – a sour green apple ICEE with whipped sweet cream topping and red sugar crystals. And to top it off, each of us received a special Grinchy cookie to enjoy.

Beyond the Food

What truly made this experience stand out was the warm atmosphere and friendly service. Throughout our meal, we had different Who's come by to chat with us, taking an interest in Julie and her Christmas. They would sit or stand with us, making conversation that didn't feel rushed at all. It was a fun experience that left us feeling grateful for the opportunity to interact with these lovable characters.

Conclusion

While the Grinch Character Breakfast was a fun-filled experience, the price point of $160 for three people left us feeling a bit Grinchy ourselves. Despite the delicious food and warm atmosphere, we're not convinced that this event is worth the hefty cost.

That being said, we did have a wonderful time enjoying the company of our waiter and the friendly Who's who came to chat with us during breakfast. It was a unique experience that we won't forget anytime soon.

Overall, our Grinchy breakfast adventure at Universal Islands of Adventure was an enjoyable experience that left us with memories to cherish. While it may not have been worth the price point for us, we're glad we had the opportunity to try it out once.

Would we do it again? Probably not, but only because of the price point. However, we do recommend this unique and fun-filled experience to families looking for a special treat. Just be sure to book your reservation well in advance to ensure availability!
